Persephone

In Greek mythology Persephone, daughter of the harvest goddess, was abducted by the god of the underworld. Forced to leave the earth above to inhabit the underworld, she existed between both worlds. Nature's seasons and cycles of life, fertility and death are aspects of transformation in this myth. This project focused on Persephone in the waters of Pergusa Lake. We are made mostly of water. Water can resist or yield, nourish or consume. Water connects us to life and death and serves as the bridge between, over which Persephone must traverse.
