I am interested in transformation and the transcendental nature of being. Whenever I experience physical, emotional or spiritual growth or changes, there are moments when I'm no longer who I was, but not yet a new self. In a process involving dissolution, I briefly vacillate between form and formlessness. This is something I sense in all creative acts, especially when I'm creating art.
Working from my own photographs, I choose materials and methods that affirm moments of suspension and flux between states. Water is a strong motif in my work. Its reflections and distortions and life giving/taking properties are metaphors for working creatively, where my ideas and images can 'float' into awareness.
